ORGANISATION PURPOSES

1. BLUEGREENTEAM has among its purposes the EDUCATION of the population on the fundamental characteristics of NATURE, taking into account that the majority of the world’s population today is URBANITE,

that is, they were born, they work-study, and they will die in a large city, far away from what is natural. Know the current and the estimated status of its deterioration.

3. BLUEGREENTEAM has as an objective that girls, boys, and youngsters understand the real danger of uncontrolled global warming and climate change for their generation and those to come; and engage in seeking short and long-term concrete solutions.

2. BLUEGREENTEAM wants to add its initiative to the earlier ones of other large organisations, thus bringing together all previous work in environmental education for the new generations, an activity that must intensify on a daily basis.

4. BLUEGREENTEAM wants to help restore the network of damaged, hurt, or confused personal relations. This means healing the complex ecology of human thought, feelings and action that influence the cultural mentality and praxis of any type of child abuse and any chauvinist violence against women, all by means of a new education.

MISSION

RAISE youngsters’ awareness of the imminent danger entailed in an uncontrolled global warming and a dramatically unpredictable climate change.

SENSITISE girls, boys, and youngsters towards global pollution caused by mega-sized human activities like massive agro-industry, transport, and bad consumer habits, overall eating habits.

INVOLVE students in the search for solutions to these problems, with the best available technologies.

PROTECT girls and boys from any type of child abuse.

EDUCATE new generations to treat women with respect in the same conditions and with the same opportunities for all of them, eradicating any cultural praxis of violence against them.

VISION

CONTACT the girls, boys, and youngsters of the world in social networks at a global level and in on-site events at a local level, to transmit them information and experiences they need to know, interacting with other girls, boys, and youngsters to generate new attitudes with a greater environmental commitment.

ENCOURAGE students with the most adequate means to do research and make innovations in new materials, new urban construction, new modes of transport, new forms of agricultural production and better nutrition habits.

CHANGE to new forms of social and democratic organisation, where girls, boys, and youngsters participate with power of decision in defense of their gender, economic, and ecological rights, and of their right to education.

THE AUTHOR

He studied Biological Sciences and Liberal Arts for some years. He is currently devoted to analyzing and studying the causes and consequences of Global Warming and the possible measures to mitigate Climate Change, with an ecological humanist, economic humanist, and democratic humanist approach. He works with youths in divulging renewable energies as an alternative to the energy crisis that asphyxiates lungs and the planet’s economy.

When the author was asked about the motives behind his work, he answered after a brief pause: “Why do I write all this?

Seeing three-year old children carrying plastic barrels with water from the community tap to the small tent assigned to their family, or what is left of it, in the refugee camp, displaced by famine or the horror of a war as incomprehensible as it is unjustifiable.

Seeing the corpse of Aylan Kurdi, a boy just three years old, drowned along with his mother and his little five-year old brother in a Turkish beach; running away from fundamentalist madness, trying to reach European shores in an inflatable boat, and dying while trying, like so many others in that cemetery called Mediterranean Sea; so close and so far away from Europe.

Seeing Omram Daqneesh, a boy barely five years old, sitting in an ambulance, alone, covered in blood and dust of the debris from which he was rescued after a bombing, in a war produced and funded by adults, a war in which the innocent blood of children and the stunned and horrified gaze of those new generations should question adults, and push us to make up our minds to do ‘something’. Wherever we are, there is always something to do; even the minimum sense of humanity in us will force us to do something, to say something, and to pray to Somebody.

Seeing children living in the dumps of major Latin American cities, scavenging through the garbage to earn their family’s daily bread, knowing that1% of the world population can spare unlimited superabundance of everything they flaunt with gall and insolence, and that the remaining 99% of human beings urgently need ‘something’, ‘a little bit’ of that everything to survive.

Seeing family members suffering a forced separation, crying the enforced estrangement of one of its members, because of a denied entry permit or the inevitable deportation that follows the lack of required documents.

Seeing the old ghosts of xenophobia and radical ethnocentrism again, which we had already overcome, now resurrected by the factory of mistrust and the industry of fear in order to separate with the worst form of walls, those of prejudice, hate, and discrimination.

Seeing how, year in year out and summit after summit, the lobby of the greatest of oil, coal, industry, banking, and the arms industry sign, through their governments, pacts they don’t comply with and agreements they break as soon as the last toast is over or the family picture has been taken, and set goals never met but rather increasingly worsen.

Seeing how governments fail to stop the forest massacre and to massively plant trees on the surface of their countries, or to clean their polluted rivers and lakes using the idle or the unemployed therefor, and thus being able to generate new labour sources, full employment, economic stability, and social wellbeing in a cleaner environment and with a sustainable future.

Seeing how governments penalize with taxes the use of renewable energies for domestic and industrial use, instead of stimulating their use and further development.

Seeing all of these is what drives me to do ‘something’ and write ‘something’. The above leads me to believe what Teresa of Calcutta said, that although a drop of water in the ocean is almost nothing, the ocean would not be the same because of that missing drop.

I believe there are millions of young drops wanting to do something important and I know that all those drops together will form a mighty stream, a river of change, an unstoppable water fountain, an avalanche of new life”.
